How we make money
The short answer: affiliate links, clearly disclosed, with a firewall between commissions and verdicts.
Thrive Lifestyle is reader supported. Some of the products we write about are sold by brands that run affiliate programs. If you click through to one of those brands and buy something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it's how independent publications like this one keep the lights on without selling sponsored posts dressed up as journalism.
The rules we follow
- No brand pays to appear in a guide, and no brand can pay to improve its verdict.
- We recommend plenty of things nobody pays us for. Cast iron skillets, baking soda, plain bar soap, and opening your windows are recurring characters on this site, and none of them earn us a cent.
- If a product with an affiliate program loses to a product without one, we say so and rank it that way.
- Affiliate relationships never see a draft. Verdicts are written first; links come after.
- Every article that could earn us a commission carries a disclosure like the one at the bottom of this page.
What we don't do
We don't accept sponsored articles, we don't do "gifted" product coverage in exchange for placement, and we don't let brands review our copy before it publishes. If that ever changes for a specific piece, it will be labeled in plain English at the top, not buried in a footer.
Why trust this
You shouldn't, blindly. That's the point of how we write: we name our sources in the text so you can check them yourself, and when the evidence is weak we say it's weak. If you ever catch a claim that doesn't hold up, email ask@thrivelifestyle.com and we'll dig back into it and correct the piece if we got it wrong.
